Schedio Etape Agric

Schedio Etape Agric (SEA) is a South African farming enterprise involved in HYDROPONICS and PISCICULTURE.

Our Vision

To be recognised as a producer of top-quality agricultural products within the required Health and Safety Standards, with the responsible utilisation of our natural resources and the improvement of the social standards of our working community as top priorities.

Mission

At SEA, we are inspired by the food security crisis within South Africa and beyond our borders. We aspire to address this concern in two ways:

  1. To maintain and improve the quality of our products in order to satisfy national and international customer requirements.
  2. To continually explore new, innovative farming techniques and modern technology, which will benefit the farming sector.

Hydroponics Farming

SEA uses hydroponic farming methods to grow and deliver packaged fresh produce to clients. Hydroponics farming grows plants without soil, using nutrient-rich water solutions to deliver essential minerals directly to roots, enabling faster growth, higher yields, and significant water savings (up to 90%).

This soil-less method in controlled environments reduces pesticide use, and allows year-round production, making it a sustainable solution for food security.

Crops Produced

  • Tomatoes
  • Leafy Green Vegetables
  • Cucumbers
  • Peppers
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries

Pisciculture

SEA specializes in the production, distribution and sale of Tilapia and Catfish. The fish are bred and cultivated in an intensive Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS)

RAS is a land-based, closed-loop fish farming technology that continuously filters, treats, and reuses water, allowing high-density fish culture with minimal water use. RAS provide a constant and controlled environment for the fish, allowing for optimal and fully manageable production of African Catfish, Tilapia and other fish species.

Fish Produced

We produce the fast-growing strains of:

  • The Nile Tilapia
  • Mozambique Tilapia
  • Redbreast Tilapia
  • Catfish
